The basic situation of China's printing industry

according to the statistics of the General Administration of publishing, in 2004, there were 94282 printing enterprises of all kinds in the country, an increase of 1893 over 2003, with a growth rate of 2.05%, and more than 3 million employees. Since China's accession to the WTO in December 2001, China's printing industry has continued to grow at an average annual rate of 15%. In 2004, the total output value of printing was about 260billion yuan, accounting for about 2% of the gross national economic product. The development speed of China's printing industry is much higher than that of developed countries such as the United States, Japan and Germany

1. In 2003, there were 570 publishing houses nationwide, publishing 190391 kinds of books, 9074 kinds of periodicals, 2119 kinds of newspapers, and 38.112 billion copies of newspapers. In 2003, the national publication paper consumption was 4.1859 million tons, an increase of 10.75% over 2002. In 2003, the total printing volume of newspapers was 123.559 billion pairs, an increase of 15.76% over 2002, of which the printing volume of color newspapers accounted for 65%

2. Packaging and printing China's packaging market demand increases by about 12% every year, and the total output value of packaging and printing accounts for about 1/3 of the total output value of printing in China. There are more than 20000 packaging and printing enterprises nationwide, accounting for about 40% of paper printing, 30% of plastic printing, 25% of metal printing, and 5% of other packaging and printing

3. Import of printing equipment (according to the process line of the device using the body precipitation method of the customs system), a total of 135311 printing equipment and auxiliary equipment were imported in 2004, with a total amount of 1.61 billion US dollars

4. Printing equipment ① paper: China's paper and paperboard have great configuration sensitivity, and its production and total sales volume rank second in the world. In 2003, the total output was 4300 tons, an increase of 14% over 2002. In 2004, the total output was 48.62 million tons, including 28.74 million tons of machine-made paper, an increase of 21.7% over the same period, 19.9 million tons of machine-made board, an increase of 19.5% over the same period. In 2003, 7million tons of coated paper and paper were imported. It is estimated that the paper consumption will reach 80million tons in 2015, while China's paper production capacity is only 65million tons. At present, China's per capita paper consumption is only 33kg, far lower than that of developed countries. ② The total annual output and consumption of ink in China have increased by more than 10% over the same period. China's ink production capacity has reached 270000 tons, and the ink consumption will reach about 300000 tons in 2005. In 2004, exports were 15600 tons, an increase of 44.44% over 2003, and imports were 46000 tons, an increase of 16.75% over 2003. ③ According to the statistics of 35 PS plate factories, the growth capacity is about 190million square meters. In 2004, the total output reached 120million square meters, an increase of 26.68 million square meters over 2003, an increase of 28.5%, and the total sales volume is about 110million square meters, an increase of 19.54 million square meters over 2003, an increase of 21.6%. According to customs statistics, 7.17 million square meters of PS version were exported in 2003. In 2004, the export was 12million square meters, an increase of 67%. For example, Canada's border trade is estimated to be more than 30million square meters. In 2004, the total output of thermal CTP and photosensitive CTP in China was less than 3million square meters

5. Digital technology ① CTP as of September, 2004, there were 312 sets of CTP equipment in the mainland of China, with an annual growth rate of 38.1%, including 193 sets of thermal sensitivity, 103 sets of photosensitivity and ctcp5. In terms of geographical distribution, there are 172 sets in Guangdong (accounting for 55.1%), 36 sets in Shanghai and 32 sets in Beijing. In 2004, the newspaper printing plant installed 22 sets, and now there are 61 (3) upstream raw material wood pulp sets. The biggest problem affecting the popularization of CTP in China is the high price of plates. How to give full play to the comprehensive efficiency of CTP equipment is also an important problem. ② Digital proofing as of May, 2004, the installed capacity of digital proofing was nearly 2100. According to the survey of 100 enterprises, 40.5% of enterprises have adopted digital proofing, and 37.8% of enterprises said they would add digital proofing system and CTP system. ③ Digital printing as of May 2004, there were more than 2004 toner digital printing machines and high-end equipment aluminum research and development and other industrial chains in China
